A Day at the Beach – by Sue Sykes
Hello everyone!!
While I know that my friends in the Western Provinces have been hit with lots of snow and ice, our weather here in Southwestern Ontario is still rainy and gloomy. And what better way to lift our spirits than with a bright sunny layout about the beach?!
Supplies used: Bazzill cardstock; Fancy Pants Designs patterned paper, cardstock stickers and rub-ons; Doodlebug Designs alpha stickers; myStamp Box stamps Mini AlphaTim Holtz Distress ink; Glitz Designs and Me & My Big Ideas rhinestones; Sharpie Poster-Paint and American Crafts markers; Fiskars foam adhesive; miscellaneous buttons from my stash.
Using the fun Beach Babe line from Fancy Pants Designs, I created this layout using this photo of my daughter from our summer vacation a couple of years ago. I love using bright colours with black – always seems to make the colours pop!
The title was created using Doodlebug alpha stickers and myStamp Box stamps on a die cut doily, embellished with rhinestones and stickers. The journaling is handwritten on cardstock strips then attached using foam adhesive.
For a whimsical feel, I outlined the patterned paper centre square with a marker, and added the date in the corner.
So if the dreary weather is bringing you down, try your hand at a summer/beach theme and see if you can lift your spirits!
Cheers,
Sue
