Love Lives Here with Bazzill Basics

Hello Canadian Scrapbookers! It is Jayme here with a fun little project I made for a school art auction fundraiser.  I work at the school and I wanted to put in a little something-something, and this is the something I came up with!  Except I really like it. Is it uncouth to buy your own entry from an art auction?

Supplies used: Bazzill Basics patterned paper, cardstock and card bases; myStamp Box stamps; Clearsnap inks; Sizzix dies.

Just to play around with adding ink to the background, I started off with a set of cards. I love the Bazzill Antique papers to stamp and ink on because their patterns add a nice bit of texture and interest to the project. I like these papers for making flowers too, but I didn’t do that today.  For this background, I just applied die inks to my large acrylic block with the stamp pad, misted with a bit of water and plopped it onto the paper.  Then I misted it with Vanilla Spritz.

I stamped and embossed the houses on a different paper from the Bazzill Antique line, then colored in the images with Smooch and Glitz inks.

This is the project I brought in for the auction. I created this background using an ink applicator. First I drew the sun with a few messy circles, then added the ink colors to the right zones. I added a few finishing touches with more Smooch inside the sun and to add some different color intensity to the blue areas. Even though the patterned paper feels delicate, it really stood up to my inky play. After a quick blast with the heat gun, everything was ready to assemble.  I popped up the middle house just for fun and matted on a few layers of colored cardstock to make a 5×7 finished product, which I then popped into a somewhat rustic looking frame.  Here’s a close-up:

Action shot! Look at that ink fly!!!!!

is gorgeous!!!!! And of course it is not uncouth to buy back your own art. It’s a fund raiser after all, and if you see something you really love, then hey!
