Brewin’ Up Something Fun!

CainesCSoct6pic1

Hi all! It’s Cathy Caines here to share some fun Halloween projects featuring Stampin’ Up!

The ghosts and goblins have been out to play in my backyard since September began. I love to create for Halloween!!   It could be that I get giddy at the thought of candy or that I have an excuse to search Pinterest for cool costume ideas. Regardless, if you have Halloween on your mind, here are some fun ideas using Stampin’ Up! products.

First, you need a banner – this banner was created using the Chalkboard Banner Simply Created Kit. I used white Staz-On and stencils to create the word ‘BOO’, as well as rubbed it around the edges. This gave it a more spooky feel but chalk would also do the trick.

My daughter would say that treats are the most important thing and most definitely the priority. I couldn’t agree more. I created this bat and pumpkin using the Fry Box Bigz die. To create the bat wings, I die cut a 2.5” circle and then used the Scallop Edgelit to cut down the middle of the circle. I adhered the two “wings” to the back of the bat. The pumpkin face was created using the Fall Fest polymer stamp set. What makes this cool though is that I lined the inside of the box with the Typset DSP. I simply love those stripes!

Next, I created some brooms using Fringe Scissors and the Tee Hee stamp set. Using the small cellophane bags and some licorice, these brooms came together quickly. Make sure to distress the fringed paper for that rustic look.

Mason jars are all the rage lately so make sure that you save some to create “brew” or to hold chocolate eyeballs, etc. If you aren’t sure what to put in the jars you can mix re-inker and water or mix dish soap with water.

Using different size pearls has a neat effect for any “drink” stamped image.

I filled up silver buckets of gummy worms and candy corn. But they looked a little bit empty so I added little banners from the scraps I had on my desk.

These little 3×3 cards were created using the Bite Me stamp set. Although they are simple, the watercolour paper gave the card more “spook” and texture.

I can’t wait to see what you create! Make sure to share with me and Canadian Scrapbooker on Facebook!
