Tuesday with the Team featuring Karen Ellis and the Brother ScanNCut and a little wine!

Hostess gifts, thank yous, wine…. it’s all good!

Hello everyone – Karen Ellis Here!

I’ve been busy wrapping up a big fundraiser for our local sea cadet corp – a wine taste & buy!   Yummy, right?    All the wine is ready to be delivered and I am just getting my bottle tags ready to identify their new owners.  wink

I love how these turned out and wanted to share them with you!   I thought they’d be FABULOUS for those of you who take a bottle of wine as hostess gifts during the holiday season.   I made my Bottle Tags a wine theme but they could just as easily be created with a Christmas or Hanukkah theme as well!

The bottle tags were made using my Brother ScanNCut machine.

#1 Brother

I found a template online and created a cut file for them in Brother ScanNCut Canvas (scanncutcanvas.brother.com – feel free to email me for the file if you’d like … thearthousestudio@rogers.com).   You could also cut a rectangle out of heavy cardstock (Canadian Scrapbooker Super Stock would ROCK) and punch a 2” hole at one end too…   I love the convenience of using the cutting machine though – especially for cutting multiple tags!

I didn’t have a wine bottle stamp so I decided to make my own.   Here are the supplies you’d need to do the same:

Speedball Pink Carving Rubber

Stabilo ALL Pencil

Speedball Carving Tool

Your favourite ink

The Bottle Tag

and it’s handy to have a foam stamping pad to stamp on!

You don’t NEED to be able to draw – you can also trace an image onto the stamp rubber as well but I love the abstract block look of a simple hand drawing!  I used a Stabilo ALL Pencil because it’s designed to write on all surfaces and it wipes clean with water if you wish as well.

#4

Carve out your image with  stamp carving tools.

#5

My rule of thumb… the messier the better for that abstract look so it’s really not intimidating to do!

#6

Then all that’s left to do is stamp!

I loved this look so much I made a simple card by backing it with some coordinating cardstock and a little twine wrap.  These will make fabulous thank you cards for the wineries that participated!

Stamp or write a sentiment along the bottom edge of your wine tag to personalize it for your special occasion.

Happy Carving!   And thanks for letting me share!!
